Gennady

Date
Thursday, June 25th

Time
8PM

Tickets:

Some men collect objects while Gennady collects beats, rhythms and exquisite sounds, alchemizes them into his own unique musical language and texture. He's traveled the world collecting several lifetimes worth of memorable stories and musical styles. His sensibilites are forged from life experiences from being forced into service and forming the Soviet military's Jazz Big Band, to (defecting) fleeing his war-torn native Azerbaijan and taking its Arabesque beats and Orthodox chants with him.

Following the US premiere of his latest project, Pilgrim (www.pilgrimuniverse.com), in which he was the headlining performer at a world music tribute to Quincy Jones in the Fall of 2008, Gennady is hosting a special first-listen evening for music industry guests and Jazz World Fusion audience.
