Acting Classes For Teens

Acting Classes For Teens

Edgemar Center for the Arts is the place where theatre, dance, music, film, and visual arts all come together in one place. The Center for the Arts is an opportunity for students and seasoned professionals to work side-by-side through workshops, rehearsals, and collaborations across disciplines. They offer more than acting classes for teens who are interested in a future in acting. They also provide participation in productions that mix people of all ages and levels of experience to create the ideal environment for learning. The community is also a part of the experience and they are invited to observe, engage, and interact as participants in the productions.

Acting lessons for teens will include the opportunity for them to find their artistic voices. The On Camera Auditions are designed for students between the ages of seven and fourteen who are new to being filmed and are looking to develop their basic auditioning skills. This course will help them to build confidence and improve their public speaking ability. The class is a fun way for students to work with the latest sides from film, sitcom, episodic and commercials. The small size of these classes allows for individual attention of each student.

The Acting and Improvisation acting classes for teens uses interactive exercises, theatre and improvisational games as well as scene work so that students' imaginations and creativity can reach their full potential. This course will help them create character and learn to trust their instincts so that their self confidence is greatly developed and they can make new friends and learn independent thinking. This course is taught in eight week sessions and at the end of each session, students will perform in a showcase for their parents and the agents at Edgemar.

Junior Summer Camp is another place where acting classes for teens are taught along with creative writing, improvisation, the opportunity to view themselves on camera doing scenes, and to learn all about the art of performing. At the end of each session, the student will present a final project in one of the categories that they feel the most inspired by. They will have the opportunity to perform in an original play and work out their funny bone on stage!
